I do not know where my words are about to take me, as I start this article. I have thoughts circling within, going somewhere, but where, Lord? Where are you taking me? Matthew 24:3 >
“Now as He sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, ‘Tell us, when will these things be? And what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?’ And Jesus answered and said to them: ‘Take heed that no one deceives you.’ “
Deception will be top of the list. It was the very first thing He said. Many will come in His name, claiming to be Him, or have a word from Him. We live in such a time of lies and deception all around. Yes, it is depressing. These false prophets will likely be in the Church too, itching people’s ears.
I have to ask, “Will there be a fake revival?” We’ve seen everything else fake, why not? How will we know the fake from the true? A true revival produces heat! Real heat! A fake revival produces Laodicea! Lukewarm! Neither hot or cold! (Revelation 3:15) Has our life been truly changed by the heat of God’s Word and Spirit?
John 5:39 > “You search the scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.”
Daniel prophesied a time of people running to and fro, and greatly increasing knowledge. That might not be only the world’s people, but the church might have increasing knowledge also, and will we mistake that for revival? How much are we actually becoming like Jesus in all this knowledge we are gaining? How much are we on fire in love with God?
We will come back to that thought, but have you noticed the New World Order coming? Will we have a Golden Age? Powers are suddenly coming together that could create such a time. It’s actually rather exciting, isn’t it. Just imagine, what would that be like? How could we say “No” to such a thing?
Prosperity and pleasures beyond our wildest dreams! Could we pray the prayer of Elijah in such a time? A prayer calling for judgement rather than blessings? Who would even dare suggest such a thing? Surely they would be a mad man. Was Elijah a mad man? I’m sure plenty said he was. Look at how Ahab addressed him. >
“Then it happened, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said to him, ‘Is that you, O troubler of Israel?’ “ (1st Kings 18:17)
Yes, we will be accused of being the “troublemakers”. But what was true of Elijah will also be true of us.
“I have not troubled Israel, but you and your father’s house have, in that you have forsaken the commandments of the Lord and have followed the Baals.”
Followed the Baals. Baal was an idol god who also represented prosperity. Love of money. Materialism. Ahab married Jezebel as a way of connecting to Phoenicia, who was a country with merchant ships and could offer business opportunities to Israel. Possibly usher in a golden age. However, the prayer of Elijah rained on Ahab’s parade. Or maybe I should say it did not rain on his parade. How can you have a golden age when you have drought and famine? Elijah preferred famine to a golden age of abundance? A mad man.
How can you have a real revival while enjoying a golden age? Human nature, and past history seems to indicate you cannot. But we badly need revival! If the choice were laid before us right now, the choice between hardship leading to revival, or a golden age leading to more self-pleasurizing, which would we actually pray for? Do we pray for that which would enrich our soul, or enrich our flesh? Which would we actually do? Which are we actually doing?
In Ahab’s eyes, Elijah was the problem, not him or Jezebel. Are we the problem for noticing a lukewarm church? Are we the problem for pointing out we need a true revival? Are we the problem for realizing people rarely seek God while enjoying a Golden Age? But don’t worry. I doubt the church will pray the prayer of Elijah and risk messing up a Golden Age. Currently, I believe a revival is stirring, but will it be aborted by a golden age? Don’t get distracted, and don’t be deceived people of God. We’re so close!
Will we have a true revival or a Golden Age? Which is God about to allow? Which will we be tested with? Both are a test. But people usually only seek God earnestly in the bad times, not the good. Will we have a fake revival producing no real heat, no real change, such as a Laodicean age would produce? For it is certain we are headed into a New World Order.
Anytime you have the kind of major advancements in society we have seen, and are about to see much more, it produces a new world order. When we learned to use fire. When we went from horses to motorization. When we created the assembly line. When the computer came to be. If an advancement produces a large enough change in society, it causes a new world order to develop around it. We are in the midst of one even now.
Suddenly we have 500 billion dollars going to Skynet? We are in a race against China? An emergency situation? And what ever happened to the guy who blew up the Tesla truck in front of a Trump hotel and his manifesto spoke about the drones? Nothing but sudden silence? Disappeared? Hhmmm. We forget so quickly. Forces are being aligned. They want to sell us something in a sparkling package. And we will buy it. Rest assured. We will pay its price to posses.
A new age and a new order is coming, there is no stopping it, but will we “personally” be of Elijah or Baal? Are we the Bride fully in love with her Husband, that produces such a heat of love that it changes our life and others? A true and personal revival. It will be of the fire, and tested by fire.
Elijah created a revival in his time. He stopped the rains, but called down fire from those same closed heavens, and then a true rain could finally come. Don’t be fooled by the fake, child of God. Be sure to be part of the real. Don’t buy fools gold. Question everything. Pray earnestly and be one of God’s fire keepers! A fire in your belly because you have not left your first love. Our Husband cometh! Let the virgins wake up and fill their lamps with oil from heaven. Light them!
Jesus told the Laodicean church to buy, (pay a price!), gold from Him refined in fire! And white garments. Holiness? And anoint your eyes that you may see. We need to see through the sparkling package to the truth of our own condition. If we love all the pretty things this world is offering, the love of God is not in us.
Will our freedoms survive this Skynet thing? Will people actually be forced to be better people because nothing will be hidden? All will be seen and heard? Will that force people? Which people? What people? If all will be seen and heard, then we better be involved in politics, because if the algorithm decides you are a danger to society, there will be no hiding. At that point it is game over.
Until then! There is much potential! This hand has not played out yet! Let us be wise as serpents and harmless as doves! When we are on fire with God’s Spirit we cannot be stopped. Truth will win out. May we be faithful keepers of the fire no devil can stop. He has his appointed time. But we have a promise of enduring to the end.
We do not speak hard things to crush the hearts of God’s people, but to sound the trumpet to wake up, and not be deceived, wiser than the serpents around us. We will tread on serpents. Be sure to have your boots on! And all the armor of our Lord. Amen.
We are in an acceleration. Things are happening fast. Stay tuned. Don’t be afraid, but be aware of Skynet, Stargate, all these things. Signs of the time.
