Salt of the Earth > Just back from a week of chaos and family vacation, and wow! I discover more of our trusted leaders being EXPOSED! How do we get our country back to trusted leadership? Has that become a bridge too far? Has that become the impossible dream? When both Tony Stark/Ironman, and the Hulk guy confronted Captain America about living in the past, trusting American leadership, that things had changed and he was totally naive. Cap had to do some investigating of his own. Unfortunately, they were right and Cap was in for a rude awakening.

Being the true hero he was, he did investigate. And he did not deny the truth he found. He faced it head on! He eventually ends up one of the criminals on the run from our government, just like David running from King Saul in our Bible. But true heroes have one thing in common, they fight evil, and that trait would eventually bring them back together again. All would be revealed!

While on vacation in Nashville, my wife and I, along with our large family, ate at the Aquarium Restaurant. We were disappointed in the food, but the aquarium part was awesome and well worth enduring the food one time anyway.

Just out side the restaurant was a “Marvel” picture booth. I’ve never seen one of those before. My wife loves Guardians of the Galaxy, and I like both Captain America and Winter Soldier. So we had to do it! She got a picture with Groot, and I the other. And what is my point here?

Jesus said, as His followers, we would be the salt of the earth. Salt fights decay! Salt fights the good fight! And He said if we have lost our flavor then what good are we, but to be cast out and trodden under foot! Satan and his demons are either under our feet, or we are under his! And how do we do this? A sower went forth to sow. I cannot emphasize this enough. The truth has got to keep getting out there! Good seed finding good ground! We are light! And light hurts the eyes of those who love darkness.

At risk of revealing myself too much a child at heart, we also saw the new Fantastic Four movie. It just happened to come out while we were vacationing. Personally, I found the Superman movie kind of weird, and did not enjoy that much. But we both loved the new F-4 movie. And I add this movie to make my point easier to see.

The Fantastic Four are made up of four very individualistic characters. Each have their own very unique abilities. To be the superhero, they must operate in whatever their particular super gifts may be. The same is true of us! If we are to be the salt of the earth and fighting decay, don’t try to be someone else. Who are you? What are the gifts God has given YOU?

Are you good at speaking? Teaching? Working on cars? Art? Singing? Medical? In what ways are you gifted to make this world a better place and fight against the decay and rot that is our enemy? In what ways are you gifted to be God’s light in the earth? Use those gifts!

The pilgrims and our founding fathers were so fed up with King and Queen rule that they risked their lives to cross an ocean, face an unknown environment, leave every comfort zone, to eventually create a land called America. There are those who want to kill that America. The one founded on God’s Word. A unique birthing of a country. A God-fearing and God-trusting country. In God we trust?

We are infested with a cancer that wants to trust in money and government, and they call fearing God foolishness. If they win, our land will be filled with every evil. The love of money is the root of all evil. Dangers to children in the womb and out of it, will continue rising. And the millstone will continue being formed for our judgement.

We can either be the salt we are called to be, or watch decay take over more and more of our country until she is no longer America at all, but the harlot riding the back of the Beast. In the F-4 movie there was a great deal of emphasis on saving the child. Coincidence? In order to do that, Sue Richards had to change the mindset of the people of her time. And for some odd reason, they decided to set this movie back in the times of the 1960’s. A more family friendly time. A time when God’s Word was being taken out of the schools, but the harvest of that bad seed had not matured yet. (Can that message live again in 2025?)

As followers of Christ, we may not be faster than a bullet, but God has given us a supernatural calling with supernatural weapons to fight with. Prayer, faith, and sacrifice being examples of such. This is our time to rise to the call. The herald of Galactus has given his message. Declared our doom. To fight is futile. Just accept your fate and die with the ones you love.

Let us rise up and speak a different word! Perhaps the herald, main stream media (?), could actually be swayed to fight decay again? Rather than lie, manipulate, and promote it? Wouldn’t that be a wonderful world to live in again? But whatever the outcome, we are the salt of the earth, and salt will be salt, no matter what the world may want to be.

This is our time. Jesus spoke of Israel missing the time of her visitation. As Spiderman said, with great power comes great responsibility. Can a comic book speak truth? Dare we ignore the power God has given us? Do we truly believe? God is watching. He will separate the real from the fake. All will be revealed. All will be judged. No one gets away with anything, unless we repent, have a change of heart, and get right with our Creator. Captain America was no longer naive. Truth hurt. He faced it head-on, and bravely. Because that is who he was.
