The Smell Test > Spiritual Discernment.

If we are ever going to need spiritual discernment, it is in the days in which Jesus said, “Be not deceived” and Paul wrote, “the people will believe a great lie”. Are we there? We are, but a great deal of stuff is still ahead of us.

As we watch Israel fighting for the right to build its own Temple in its own land upon their own holy mount, we can see there is still a lot ahead of us. So now is the time for us to start living our Christianity in the way our Lord showed and taught us to live it. In the words, “Be not deceived”, and Paul’s warning also, we are made aware that the attack comes in a way pertaining to our mind. Yes, we are still on the Helmet of Salvation. This cannot be denied.

A.I. and psychological warfare will be the battleground of our time. God predicted it thousands of years ago and the unbelievers cannot help but obey God’s words. We see God already prepared us in the priestly garb of armor He has given. We cannot over emphasize that in Ephesians chapter six, God plainly instructs us to get dressed in our spiritual armor every day.

Evidently, God provides us a fresh suit every day. Where does He put it? It’s pretty clear He hangs it in our Prayer Closet. If we neglect to live in our priestly calling of prayer, then we will not be anointed. In the armor is the anointing. Just like the power of God showed up whenever the Ark of the Covenant was brought out. For us that anointing is pictured in this armor. It’s a way of showing that when the devil sees a Christian fully in his armor of Christ, the anointed one, then he knows the power he is facing. And it will be hard for him to deceive you, if not impossible!

So…we made note of how the Helmet takes in more than simply covering our brain and mind. It also covers our eyes, ears, mouth, and nose! We also mentioned how the Sword of the Lord comes out of our mouth! Therefore, our Sword is affected by it. Also, our shield of faith because faith is based on what we “believe”, which again is a function of our mind.

But today I want to focus on the nose. What is God showing us? That may not be as apparent as the other senses we think of. If we decipher the message in this spiritual picture, what is it saying? My first thought is it is a picture of the supernatural ability of spiritual discernment. The ability to see through the lies, the grey, the fog, the smoke and mirrors, the flattery, the pride, the offer of money, bribery, and all the wiles of the devil to not be FOOLED! (Misled to somewhere they want us to go, and we do not!) To not live as a fool, but in the wisdom of our Lord and Kingdom. The Kingdom of God is a Kingdom of the wise.

While we watch so much insanity being played out around us in the kingdom of man, if we are Anointed, as in the priestly anointing “oil”, all the insanity of the reprobate minds is as water off a duck’s back.

We have a rather young pastor who comes form New Jersey (LOL) and does not know a lot about woods and nature. We are trying to teach him. But he did not know what the saying, “Water off a duck’s back” actually is about. It’s as simple as this > The body of a healthy duck produces an “oil” that enables it to float in water for hours without becoming water logged. It also helps against the cold. This is why we can see ducks in all kinds of weather, even the cold, still on water as if it is no problem!

However, if the duck is not healthy, if the duck is sick and their body begins failing to produce that “oil”, they will begin becoming waterlogged and can actually drown! As their body becomes heavy with water and cold, they struggle to stay afloat, and drown. Wow, what a spiritual picture. Is that a picture of the naked Christian?

So… brothers and sisters in the Lord… if we fail to protect our mind in the armor of Christ, and we are unanointed, we become vulnerable to all the lies and psy-op that is flying around out there, and believe me, there is a lot! The truth keeps us free and floating above it all. We are constantly washing our mind in the water of God’s Word. Like a Jew washing his feet as he came in from walking all those dusty roads, so do we wash our minds from the filth and lies of a reprobate world. In this way, and only in this way, can we be the salt and light of the world as we are called and anointed of God to be.

My prayer time today in my closet was exceptionally rich. Sometimes it’s just like that. Who can say why or how? But as we are faithful to enter that closet to receive the power and anointing God has for us that day, God will do His part! We do not have to understand the supernatural in order to live in it. We simply need to understand how it works! With that God Knowledge we can work it to our own good. We can set fate in our favor. This is the knowledge and power of God.

I was doing a Bible teaching with three of my grandchildren this last weekend, and I explained to them, you can never get “something” out of “nothing”. Not in the natural, anyway. 0 plus 0 will always equal 0. Subtract it, divide or multiply it, and the answer is the same. One grandson went one step farther than I did. He said the square root of zero is also zero. I’m assuming he is right about that. LOL. Anyway, I offered that as proof there has to be a “supernatural” world. Science cannot see it or prove it, so they deny it to their own foolhardiness.

Something supernatural superseded our natural laws and spoke the words, “LIGHT BE!” Our Bible tells us it was not a something, but a “Someone”! A Being above all Beings known in the supernatural world as GOD. He created us to have fellowship with and to adopt us as His children, and teach us in all His ways and knowledge, so we could share an eternity with Him in His world. Wow! Now that is a future to be excited about!

We can grow up to be the Bride of the Lamb. A very powerful position in His Kingdom which is now also ours by way of the Name of His Son, Jesus! Which we receive when we enter into a proper love marriage spiritually to Jesus. This is the Good News of the Gospel message and God’s Word explains to us exactly what is required to enter that supernatural birth Jesus taught us about. A supernatural marriage with God.

Maybe it sounds silly to you. But we don’t need to understand it to work it. We just got to truly believe! And that means we are sincere in our agreement when we choose to do so. We recognize our lost and sinful condition, separated from a holy God, our Creator. We realize how bad that is. How wrong we are. And we are SORRY. And we REPENT. But we also recognize how helpless we are to ever do any better! Only by way of the GRACE of God through His Son Jesus, do we enter a relationship with God, in which the Holy Spirit of God enters us and we begin a new journey in Christ! God supernaturally helps us as we change and begin seeking His Ways. And we receive His Name!

It is a spiritual journey. It is like a child growing to be the adult. It is like the caterpillar in the cocoon becoming the monarch butterfly. It is our Knight in shining armor rescuing us, the damsel in distress, from the dragon. It’s all true! The devil will lie to us and say that is too good to be true, but again, he lies. The Helmet of Salvation will enable us. We may say this is too good to be true, but you know what? Something about it smells true! Something about it smells right! It passes my smell test! I can’t explain it, I just know! My heart is telling me so! God loves me! The Bible tells me so! I will become one of His children!

God’s Word says we have the treasures of God in these earthly vessels. The Armor of Light itself is a great treasure! Let us not be foolish warriors found dead on the battlefield. A thousand may fall at our side, and 10,000 at our right hand, but falling will not come near me! Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path! Take up the supernatural treasures God has given us and let us show the world His love is true! His Word is true! But we can only do that when we ourself have the God Knowledge and Wisdom to be that Light. We are not the power source of His Light. Jesus is!

God is not a respecter of persons. He will do for you whatever His Word has said, if we are faithful to be true. It’s all there for us. A table spread by God in the very presence of our enemy. What are we waiting on? Say your prayer of grace. Truly mean it, and dig in! It’s all there for whosoever will!!! Amen!
