Kung Fu and Christianity. EP. 2

Kung Fu and Christianity. > Episode 2 > We seek mastery. We seek excellence. I seek to Kung Fu my knowledge of God and His Ways!

Basically, the word Kung Fu means to seek excellence and mastery of something through a qualified teacher with effort and dedication spent over time. It is a life style. It is a life of learning and practice that never ends. It becomes our life and our Way.

For me personally, Jesus said He was the Way, and I believe Him. He is my Master Teacher. He has taught me a fighting style unique to Him and those who follow Him. I have a secret name for that style. It is personal to me and I in no way insist anyone take it up for themself. I will reveal it before this article is over. I find it motivates and inspires me. Helps me stay focused and on track. Call it my personal mantra if you wish. I force it on no one, but I also freely offer it to whosoever will.

“But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor.” (2nd Timothy 2:20)

Some vessels seek excellence and honor, and some don’t care enough to make the effort and pay the price. Also, I would say many modern Pastors no longer preach and teach the “right stuff” for a person to have the “right stuff”. In God’s house, that means if they are saved at all, they are the vessels used to take out the garbage. God still loves them, and they serve an important purpose, but God would love to promote them to greater things.

The title to this continuing series is about to change to : “The Way and Christianity”. We are setting the stage for where I have been going with this all along. Great and exciting times are ahead for those who Kung Fu their Christianity, and it involves mastering His Ways! I love the interaction between Jesus and His disciples when He tells them they know where He is going and the “way” they know. Lets look at that.

In John 14, starting verse 2, Jesus says > “I go to prepare a place for you.”

He’s been telling them He is leaving. This is the Last Supper with His guys. We should take great comfort in the fact that God is always making preparations for us. He is always ahead us and preparing what we need before we even get there. That’s a supernatural lifestyle I call L7D. But I suspect the disciples are all looking at Him with eyes of confusion and questions. He seems to expect them to understand. He even goes on to say that if He goes to prepare a place for them, that means He will return to get them and take them there! Great joy! Right?

Nope. So He says a little more. “And where I go you know, and the “way” you know.”

However, in verse 5, Thomas can’t keep it in any longer, and declares they DO NOT KNOW!

“Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going, and how can we know the “way”?”

Is it any wonder they became known as the people of the Way after they understood all these things? I can imagine their excitement. We finally understand! We got it! We know the Way! But they are not there yet.

“Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” (Period!!!) (Mic drop!)

He somewhat scolds them after that, for still not realizing that when they saw Him, they also saw the Father. And then Philip popped up and said, Where?! Show us the Father, Lord! (My wording.) But on the day of Pentecost in the Book of Acts, when they received the fire of the Holy Ghost, they finally understood, with the help of the Holy Spirit in us. And it is in that Book they begin to be called the people of “the Way”. Wow. I love it. There is a Way.

I like to add one more scripture to this, and then I will reveal my name I have given to this fighting style I have learned and continue learning. In Matthew 11:27 Jesus declares >

“…, and no one truly knows the Father except the Son… AND THOSE TO WHOM THE SON CHOOSES TO REVEAL HIM.” (!!!)

Think of it! If we are one to whom Jesus has CHOSEN to REVEAL the Father to, what does that Mean? Can we be a Godwalker like Enoch was? Wow! Walk in the Spirit and not the flesh. Walk by faith and not by sight. Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path. What is all this stuff about how and where to walk? God is showing us the WAY!

So…next title will be “The Way and Christianity.” We will begin looking at the 7 places in the Book of Acts where such terminology is used. A fire has been lit and many of God’s people are no longer content to be a complacent and foolish white belt! Holy Spirit Dojos springing up every where! A fresh and powerful breeze from heaven is blowing in America and in the earth! Let America be a leader in this move of God and His people!

Now for my revealing. I gave this a lot of thought before I chose a title for this fighting style. I even thought I might not choose one, because God’s teachings are so multifaceted, how could any one name be good enough? And really, only the name of Jesus covers it all.

But then, something popped in my head, and it should have been so obvious to me from the beginning! For me, the vision and understanding in my head, that God has so inspired me with that I even published a book on it, my style and what I work so hard to teach and impart the vision of to my guys is, (drum roll?), “Sabbath Style” — L7D!

If you’re a regular reader of this site, then you have understanding. For those who want to know more, search past articles, and more is to come. I love teaching this in every way I can, and the deepest teachings yet may be coming, because we are in such a time of God moving that there are going to be many examples to show, and give God the glory He so richly deserves.

Thank you for visiting this site and reading. May you be inspired to live in the passion of God’s fire and Kung Fu your way to a higher place in Christ than you have yet known. Amen! If we fill our vase with the Water of His Ways, He will turn it to Heaven’s Wine! He does the heavy lifting. He is our REST, our Sabbath. Sabbath Style! L7D.

At age 69, my favorite thing to do is sharing God’s Word. Whether doing a reading, preaching, or teaching, it keeps the fire burning in my belly.
