Faith and Politics

“Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.” (Matthew 10:16)

I think if nothing else, surely the last four years has proven to us that as Christians we should also talk politics. I didn’t always think this way. I always heard if you want to keep peace you don’t talk about two things, religion or politics. I always said, I didn’t talk politics SO THAT I could talk to people about Jesus. If they were going to be mad at me, I wanted it to be because of the subject of “faith”, not politics.

However, certain dynamics have now changed my thinking. Actually, the Lord has been walking me this direction for some time, I just didn’t realize how far we were going until recently. I’ve now completely let go of my old way of thinking and embraced the new.

What are these dynamics I speak of? What has so drastically changed my thinking? For one, the whole Covid debacle. When I saw how close we came to losing our freedom of choice concerning the vaccine, concerning wearing a mask, concerning freedom of travel, and concerning our ability to speak of other opinions and expert information, our freedom of speech, when I saw how quickly our government could become a monster ready to label me a hater and devour me, I realized something. I had not realized just how close we were to such things.

I realized if I wanted to keep having church, or speaking to people about Jesus, then I would soon be doing it from a jail cell. We’d be having church in jail! And I know it might still come to that, and God can still do a lot even in jail, but why should we lose our freedoms of speech and religion if we don’t have to? And unfortunately, those decisions are made through politics. Our “freedoms” are determined by the laws of our land. If we surrender that territory to Satan, then it’s only a matter of time. Be wise as serpents.

Secondly, our children. I don’t have children in school anymore, but I have grandchildren. We are all aware how our public schools and universities have become nothing but liberal manipulation and mind control. Progressive breeding grounds. And many people do not have the money or know how to put their children in private schools or home school. The public school system is all they have.

A child doesn’t stand a chance under the influence of daily teaching by an authoritative adult figure, deemed to be experts, and whom their parents have sent them to learn from. How is a child supposed to see through the manipulation to what is true? Our children are in great danger! Their being taught a girl is not a girl and a boy is not a boy and you can’t trust your parents. And that’s just for starters!

Do we know if our schools are teaching such things? Do we know if they are learning Communistic ways? Are they being taught Critical Race Theory? Or some other Trojan Horse? Our innocent children who deserve to be taught knowledge to earn a living and nothing else! Children are too easily manipulated by adult figures in powerful positions. They don’t stand a chance.

Again, how can you affect these things except through politics? Should we not be there fighting the good fight for our children and future generations? School board meetings have become hotbeds of parents fighting this fight without our help. This needs to change. Xi Van Fleet, a lady whose book I’m reading right now, gained public attention at a school board. Her story of being raised in Communism has become a bright light at this time. She, too, has moved me this direction.

So…I don’t want to be doing church from jail…I don’t want people losing their job over religious beliefs…I don’t want to be forced to inject untested chemicals into my body…I don’t want innocent children being manipulated and misled…and I could name much more, but you get the picture. These are just a few of the dynamics so visibly obvious now. They have been exposed. There is big big money behind pushing us in a socialistic direction which ends up in Communism. Follow the money and all is revealed.

I’m definitely no expert on politics. It’s not something I enjoy. But I know this much, we cannot lose freedom of speech, freedom of religion, or the right to bear arms. And especially freedom of speech. If we lose that one, America is no more and Christians are hunted and in jail. What will the antichrist be if not Communistic in nature, a dictator.

It scares me how close we came. If Elon had not bought Twitter where would we be? If the Democrats had managed to saturate the swing states with illegal migrants and give them the right to vote, where would we be? There would be no checks and balances! It would all be one-sided! It would be as Communistic. Once that is achieved they have the power to do whatever they want. If we lose our checks and balances and one party or one person decides everything, just think where we would be. That’s what they want. That’s what Communism is. They promise a great life for everyone, but it’s at your expense!

I see now the need to point out and guard against Communism in our country at every turn. It’s the Christian thing to do. I’m not as concerned about being a Democrat or Republican as I am about being anti-communist! They will label us the “haters”. They will strip us of any rights, limit our freedoms, throw us in jail. If it comes to that, so be it. But don’t let it be because we were not wise as serpents to see the strategy of the enemy and cut his head off!

I’m learning a lot from Xi Van Fleet right now. I’m even thinking about changing churches. More will be explained on that later, as I learn more, but I’m looking for a way to be involved by way of faith and politics, not just politics alone.

My last article I talked about walking peacefully with our Lord, and this is a perfect example of it. I’m walking peacefully with my Lord and He is taking me this direction. All will be revealed one step at a time. I am a bird of peace towards man, and a bird of war against Satan. I will maintain peace in the chaos, be a voice for truth, and walk with my Lord. That is a powerful life to live. He is my strong tower. And I love it.

Never talk politics and religion? But we must talk politics and religion. The tide has turned!

I really like this Don. Good writing material. I was always told by everyone the same thing. Don’t talk about religion or politics. Well it was our Govt who crucified Jesus. We all that leader of that government. It was Pontious Pilot. And now in 2025 we have to bevery careful. Look how many times our government tried to kill Jesus and take him out of school and just everything. As long as I am alive I will be bringing Jesus to the forefront.

    1. Good point, Anonymous. Communism has never favored true Christianity. They like to keep a tight reign on things. These are indicators of the direction we have been slowly going for a long time. Thanks for stopping in and commenting.

Very good stuff. I have often commented that the crisis in society began with “Christians.” Folks go WHAT!!! Want’s they have caught their breath, I explain it was those in the late 50’s and early 60’s that did not put up enough of a fight over school prayer or abortion that paved the way for the debauchery we see in America today. The attitude was it won’t affect me, and that’s politics, I am supposed to share Jesus has had lasting repercussions.

    1. Thanks for the comment dfsm. Yes, the last 4 years really woke me up. A different wokeism. Now I’m trying to wake up others, and I actually got a little positive reaction at a meeting just the other night. There is hope!

At age 69, my favorite thing to do is sharing God’s Word. Whether doing a reading, preaching, or teaching, it keeps the fire burning in my belly.
